When a family invites you back for a third wedding, it’s truly the ultimate honor. We were thrilled to celebrate with Ashley & Joe at a space that’s new to us, the Museum of Broadcast Communications.

What a great venue! With seamless coordination by the team of BCR Events, this was a celebration that made us smile all night long.

Ashley, a million thanks for the kind words on yelp! It’s always such a pleasure to play for your family 🙂

The Chris Sarlas Orchestra is THE BEST. Our priority for our wedding was a fun party with a packed dance floor, and the band absolutely delivered. The band kept our guests dancing all night long until closing, and we had numerous compliments during (and they’ve kept coming after) the wedding about how great the band was. The band played two of my sisters’ weddings as well, and we loved them so much we actually chose our wedding date around the band’s availability! And we are so happy we did. Chris is a pleasure to work with – he’s professional and accommodating to our requests and our wishes. We also had the band’s string quartet play our ceremony music. They did an amazing job too, and Carol was extremely helpful in recommending music to fit with our taste. I wouldn’t hire any other band!

Chicago Wedding Band Performed for Meredith & Clay’s Groove at Independence Grove!

Independence Grove
August 1, 2015

It was so amazing to get to know Meredith, Clay, and both of their families as we planned their wedding day. The celebration began at Hope Lutheran Church in Long Grove with the Artistrings Quartet for their ceremony, and then transitioned over to their reception at Independence Grove. Artistrings switched gears to 100% pop string quartet music for dinner entertainment, and then The Chris Sarlas Orchestra took over for dancing. WHAT A PARTY!!!

Check out this special surprise version of Uptown Funk, sung by Meredith and Clay’s friend. An amazing gift to them!

Clay’s mom left us these kind words on Wedding Wire:

The Chris Sarlas Orchestra was the highlight of my son’s wedding reception! Besides the amazing talent that we all enjoyed, they have the timing, and professionalism to create an amazing party. People danced all night! One week after the wedding, we are regularly being asked how we found them (word of mouth) and told how amazing they were. You can’t go wrong with this band! We also used the string quartet for the ceremony and dinner music and they were just as wonderful. They have a huge selection of music to choose form. Chris worked with the Bride & Groom in advance to choose music and discuss everything from the introduction of the wedding party to how to do toasts.

Thank you Tia! We had a blast celebrating with your families!

It’s always such a pleasure to be back at the InterContinental, working with Chris Schmidt and his team. Nicole & Brian assembled a group of rock-star vendors, including Dilly Lily, JDetailed Events, and Gerber & Scarpelli. If you’re looking for our favorite crowd surfing bride, you’ve come to the right place. We danced until 2am! Check out some highlights here:

Nicole & Brian, hope to see you dancing at an event soon!

Another absolutely amazing weekend. More video coming up shortly, but in the meantime, this iPhone video from Tim needs to go up right away. Love it!

Update, 7/2/15
…and this is what it looked like from Carol’s perspective. Hilarious!

So, the evening started with the traditional father/daughter dance. While Mary chose a Neil Young tune for the dance with her father, he had made other plans. 🙂 Mary’s dad planned a surprise for the bride, which was a recording of her singing “Where Is Love” from Oliver in the 8th grade. Check out her priceless reaction here:

And then, we had a party. A really big party. What an amazing crowd. Some of our favorite moments are here:

Mary, a million thanks for leaving these words for us on yelp!!

The Chris Sarlas Orchestra is AMAZING. The main thing my husband and I were looking for while planning our wedding was a good band. I remembered how great the band was at my cousin’s wedding so I asked my aunt for the band info and she gave me the name Chris Sarlas. Well let’s just say my memory did not disappoint.. they were awesome. The number one thing we’ve heard in the last few weeks while rehashing the wedding is about how great the band was. My family and friends love to dance and the Chris Sarlas and his band kept us dancing all night long. The dance floor was always packed and asome family members (a brother-in-law, a cousin, some of my uncles) who don’t usually never make it out on the dance floor almost never left it the night of our wedding. Chris helped my dad pull off the most special surprise I could ever imagine for the Dad/daughter dance. They got a voice recording from my 8th grade play when I was Oliver and sang a solo “Where is love.” When the song came on (I was expecting Neil Young) I burst into tears. It was such a special moment. Chris also helped with the planning of the nights events and worked as the MC. We initially met him in his house to go over what we were looking for and what kind of music we like/don’t like and they stuck to that. They play a very wide selection of music and his band members are SO talented and have such good voices. They played some lighter music (norah jones) during dinner that was beautiful and easy to listen to and the guests loved it. The band seemed to be having so much fun themselves. It was the best night we could have imagined and a big part of that was because of Chris Sarlas and his band. I would highly recommend them and have already had several people from the wedding ask for the name of the band to recommend to their family/friends.

Looking forward to your next family celebration 🙂
