Chicago Wedding Band Performed for Nora & Christian’s Wedding at The Drake Hotel

The Drake Hotel
October 24, 2015

From the first minute speaking with Nora & Christian, we knew that this was going to be an absolutely amazing wedding! Celebrating New York style was a perfect fit for them, and when we weren’t dancing between courses, guests enjoyed conversation friendly dinner music with our vocal quartet, cajon and acoustic guitar Unplugged set. With expert coordination by Megan and her team at North Shore Weddings & Events, Nora’s megawatt smile lit up the night, and we loved every.single.second.

Fleury, our super awesome mother of the bride, left these words for us on Wedding Wire. HUGS to all!!

Of all of the things that guests remember from a wedding reception the MUSIC tops the list and the Chris Sarlas Orchestra is TOPS! My husband said, the music made the evening!

I contacted Chris Sarlas 14 months before my daughter’s wedding because he had been praised by an event planner at one of the venues we were considering. I called him and he responded immediately. He was pleasant, informative and was interested in hearing what our thoughts were about the tone and style of our wedding. He sent several very helpful emails about the process of hiring music for a wedding, etc. He suggested that my daughter and her fiance, who live in NYC, set up a phone call “meeting”; they called and had a long, informative conversation after which, they were so excited about working with Chris and his wife Carol. The next time they came into town, we met with Chris and Carol at their home for coffee and talked more about the “feeling/atmosphere” that they wanted for their reception. Chris suggested an “East Coast” style format in which right after the bridal couple is introduced, they dance their “First Dance”, just as they finish, all the guests are invited to dance and the band plays several sets. This gets all of the guests involved in the party immediately. There is such energy; people are engaged and into the party from the beginning! With East Coast Style, there is dancing between courses and this keeps the energy level high.

All of our guests raved about the music, everyone was up and dancing! One of my friends said that her husband , who never dances, was up on the dance floor enjoying himself! One of our New York guests sent me a note and said that The Chris Sarlas Orchestra was by far one of the BEST BANDS that he had ever heard at a wedding! Chris and his wife are true professional and equally important, very nice people! They are interested in making your event exactly as you have dreamed it would be.

W Hotel City Center
September 12, 2015

Juliana & Tom planned such a fun wedding day, from start to finish….beginning with the Artistrings string quartet playing a mixture of romantic classical music and the most current pop hits. They recessed to On Top Of The World by Imagine Dragons, and guests enjoyed cocktails on the Plateau.

Dinner was New York style, with dancing between courses. Tom’s dad is a fantastic drummer, and even agreed to sit in with us on a couple of tunes!

Tom & Juliana, it was such an honor to celebrate with your families again. Can’t wait to see you soon!

Chicago Wedding Band Performed for Meredith & Clay’s Groove at Independence Grove!

Independence Grove
August 1, 2015

It was so amazing to get to know Meredith, Clay, and both of their families as we planned their wedding day. The celebration began at Hope Lutheran Church in Long Grove with the Artistrings Quartet for their ceremony, and then transitioned over to their reception at Independence Grove. Artistrings switched gears to 100% pop string quartet music for dinner entertainment, and then The Chris Sarlas Orchestra took over for dancing. WHAT A PARTY!!!

Check out this special surprise version of Uptown Funk, sung by Meredith and Clay’s friend. An amazing gift to them!

Clay’s mom left us these kind words on Wedding Wire:

The Chris Sarlas Orchestra was the highlight of my son’s wedding reception! Besides the amazing talent that we all enjoyed, they have the timing, and professionalism to create an amazing party. People danced all night! One week after the wedding, we are regularly being asked how we found them (word of mouth) and told how amazing they were. You can’t go wrong with this band! We also used the string quartet for the ceremony and dinner music and they were just as wonderful. They have a huge selection of music to choose form. Chris worked with the Bride & Groom in advance to choose music and discuss everything from the introduction of the wedding party to how to do toasts.

Thank you Tia! We had a blast celebrating with your families!
