Cello Jazz – Black Orpheus (Manha De Carnaval) – Guitar Cello Duo – Perfect for Micro Weddings!

As the weather shifts to winter here in Chicago, there’s nothing better than cello jazz for a cozy night at home or a micro wedding celebration. Black Orpheus (Manha de Carnaval) is one of those jazz standards perfect for improvisation and cellist Matthew Agnew’s rendition with guitarist Gabriel Datcu is excellent wedding cocktail hour music. Cello standards, cello jazz music, and cello jazz covers are a fresh take on bossa nova and a uniquely wonderful pairing with our Chicago wedding band.

Everlong Cover Acoustic Rock String Quartet Killer Arrangement!

Everlong Cover Acoustic Rock String Quartet, with an absolutely KILLER arrangement from Artistrings. This Foo Fighters tune is a favorite of many, and is unparalleled in the indie and alternative music world. We arranged as a special request for a wedding ceremony, and our couple actually chose it as music for walking down the aisle. Although it’s a lot faster than we’d normally recommend for processional, it worked perfectly for this couple as they walked down the aisle. Bonus: it works really well for a wedding ceremony recessional, the music for walking out after the ceremony is finished! This Indie tune has become a favorite with our Chicago string quartet. Chicago Pop Strings Ensemble Plays Shiny Happy People, R.E.M.

Here’s a classic pop tune that makes everyone smile. The Artistrings Chicago pop string quartet has some favorite tunes, and Shiny Happy People is one of them! We’re throwing it back to 1991 and loving every second.

You know the words, sing along!
“Shiny happy people laughing

Meet me in the crowd, people, people
Throw your love around, love me, love me
Take it into town, happy, happy
Put it in the ground where the flowers grow
Gold and silver shine

Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people laughing”
