Most of our clients are huge music fans, and Lindsay and Bill are no exception. The Saddle and Cycle Club looked absolutely beautiful, with so many fantastic details for their guests to enjoy. The lyrics of their first dance, My Destiny (Lionel Richie) reflected that it was the perfect choice for them. With the dance floor packed from start to finish, the CSO was very much validated in the eyes of their nieces, Lily and Kate, when we surprised them with Party In The U.S.A. (Miley Cyrus). And when we took our only break of the evening, Lindsay & Bill surprised their guests with Skyline Chili and Lou Malnati’s pizza out on the terrace, as Billy hails from Cincinatti, and Lindsay was born and raised in Chicago. Congratulations!
It was nothing but rain all day long, yet by the look in Allison’s eyes, it’s as if she knew the skies were going to clear, and her 4:00pm ceremony went on as planned in the open air at The Deerpath Inn! Artistrings’ Trio performed a beautiful new arrangement of Vivaldi’s Lute Concerto in D as the bride radiantly walked down the aisle to meet her groom. But the moment we will never forget is the roar of the guests when Allison and her dad executed a Father/Daughter Dance like no other: Beginning with a very brief version of My Girl (The Temptations), and then instantaneous transformation into the Romantics’ What I Like About You! Talk about energizing their dance floor – what a night!!
One of the most spectacular and underrated views of the Chicago is from the top of Hotel 71 – absolutely stunning! Sharon and Derek had a wonderful party, and were truly the nicest, nicest people during the planning…Here is the glowing review she left for us on Yelp:
“I found Chris Sarlas while searching for wedding bands online. His web site is really great (and accurate) because it shows live clips of the band in action. Chris Sarlas made our wedding night. The band was amazing, fun, versatile and on point. Chris is a standout as the band leader. Throughout the wedding planning process he was thorough and diligent–he checked in with us frequently to ensure we were all on the same page. He also put together a wedding timeline and made us feel like we were working with someone who was in control-a smooth operator. Chris also worked with us to ensure the band got our wedding song just right…he just made us feel calm and organized during a very hectic time. Opal, one of the lead singers, worked the crowd and really drew our friends and family in. I have high standards and tend to be critical and I would recommend this band for any event. They are the best!”
And her Mom left us a review on Wedding Wire.com:
“Can’t say enough about our wonderful experience with Chris Sarlas and his band! Without a doubt, they made the party! He provided guidance, expertise, and professionalism throughout the entire process leading up to the wedding and until the last guest left. He’s the BEST! Easy to work with!”
When a bride or groom asks us to surprise their spouse with a song the other isn’t expecting, it’s always a precious moment. When they BOTH surprise each other with songs…PRICELESS! Jason is a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan, and he wanted to walk in to Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis. Katy repeated told him ‘no’ during the planning phases for the evening, yet all the time she had been telling us ‘yes’ behind the scenes as a surprise! He was quite surprised, but Katy had the biggest surprise of all when she found out that we prepared a special request from her mom, Martina McBride’s In My Daughter’s Eyes. What a fabulous celebration!
Sometimes you get to a party, and you just know that it’s going to be a fantastic night. Monica and Ryan loved the modern string arrangements performed by the Artistrings String Quartet during dinner, and everyone was up and dancing as soon as the meal was finished. A “must-play” was Sam Cooke’s arrangement of Tennessee Waltz, in honor of their home state. And an added surprise bonus was Monica’s close friend Linsday Lawler, a professional singer from Nashville…check out her performance with us on Don’t Stop Believin’! And who is that guy dancing with Opal during Don’t Stop The Music?! Party Time at the Evanston Golf Club!
Monica was very kind to leave us a review online:
“To say that the Chris Sarlas Orchestra was absolutely amazing is an understatement! We all had the BEST time and having them there played a huge part in that. Our wedding reception was held at Evanston Golf Club on August 7, 2010 in Skokie, IL. Everyone in the band was so full of energy and truly seemed happy to be there to celebrate with us. I’m pretty sure that they had every single person on the dance floor! The song choices were fantastic and after going over the evening with everyone, the band was definitely the highlight!! I can not thank them enough for the wonderful energy they brought to our day and for being so amazing to work with. From the moment I met with Chris, I knew that the music was going to be very special, and they certainly did deliver!! I can not say enough about the Chris Sarlas Orchestra. It was an absolute pleasure working with them. Look no further for your wedding entertainment… they were truly unbelievable!”
